It was operated at altitudes of around 13 km, where observation conditions are better than on the ground. A large reflector telescope was installed in the fuselage of a Boeing 747. Compared to satellite-borne observatories, SOFIA's observation instruments could be easily replaced and were directly accessible to scientists in flight. Construction and commissioning of the observatory lasted from 1999 to 2014, with observation operations continuing until 2022. The lecture presents the technology and history of the SOFIA project.BRBRPresentation: GermanBRSlides: GermanBRQuestions: German, English || || 31.03.2025 || || || || 14.04.2025 || || || || 28.04.2025 || || || || 12.05.2025 || || || || 26.05.2025 || || || || 09.06.2025 || || || || 23.06.2025 || || || Preview: DD.MM.2025 - Speaker: Title Postview: [wiki:OldPresentations2014S2 Presentations from 12.09. - 31.12.2014] [wiki:OldPresentations2015S1 Presentations from 01.01. - 31.07.2015] [wiki:OldPresentations2015S2 Presentations from 01.08. - 31.12.2015] [wiki:OldPresentations2016S1 Presentations from 01.01. - 31.07.2016] [wiki:OldPresentations2016S2 Presentations from 01.08. - 31.12.2016] [wiki:OldPresentations2017S1 Presentations from 01.01. - 31.07.2017] [wiki:OldPresentations2017S2 Presentations from 01.08. - 31.12.2017] [wiki:OldPresentations2018S1 Presentations from 01.01. - 31.07.2018] [wiki:OldPresentations2018S2 Presentations from 01.08. - 31.12.2018] [wiki:OldPresentations2019S1 Presentations from 01.01. - 31.07.2019] [wiki:OldPresentations2019S2 Presentations from 01.08. - 31.12.2019] [wiki:OldPresentations2020S1 Presentations from 01.01. - 31.07.2020] [wiki:OldPresentations2020S2 Presentations from 01.08. - 31.12.2020] [wiki:OldPresentations2021S1 Presentations 2021S1] [wiki:OldPresentations2022S1 Presentations 2022S1] [wiki:OldPresentations2022S2 Presentations 2022S2] [wiki:OldPresentations2023S1 Presentations 2023] [wiki:OldPresentations2024 Presentations 2024]
