Their stellar density is extremely high, inevitably leading to frequent encounters. At the same time, globular clusters house the final products of stellar evolution, such as black holes among others. In combination with the unique stellar dance in this very special environment at the center of a globular cluster, binary black holes can form. Using precise computer simulations I will show under which conditions these binary stars can eventually evolve to become gravitational wave sources.
